Here on the Skellig Coast of Co. Kerry, at the South West corner of Ireland, we are known for our tenacity,
(trust) and grit. The kind of grit that drives us to seek opportunity, even at the edge of the Atlantic.
Our distillery and visitor experience is located on the coastline in Cahersiveen, where the mountains meet the sea. This is the same wild landscape that inspired sixth-century monks to build their monastery on Skellig Michael, 11 kilometres out in the Atlantic Ocean.
From a small landing cove carved into granite rock, they created 618 steps to reach the monastery at the summit.
That journey, and what it represents, continues to inspire Skellig Six18 today.
On this remote stretch of the Atlantic coast, we are building a world-class Irish whiskey distillery and visitor experience.
Guided by the same stars once used for navigation and exploration, we create whiskey that reflects its place of origin. Our distillery sits within Ireland’s first designated “Hope Spot”, recognised for its importance to ocean health.
Our Six18 Step Collection includes our first release: Triple Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. This is the first Single Pot Still Irish whiskey with a peated taste profile, inspired by Atlantic peatlands and the maritime heritage of the Skellig Coast.
Our Irish gin captures the character of the Skellig Coast through four wild, locally sourced botanicals:
We explored both land and sea to select ingredients that reflect our surroundings. Each botanical brings its own flavour, combining to create a balanced gin with a strong sense of place.
Our core botanicals were chosen with input from renowned Irish chef Ross Lewis, ensuring a gin that stands confidently on the international stage.
